So you suddenly have an amnesia and you forgot your windows login password. Or you had a fight with your girlfriend/boyfriend and she/he changed your password and run off to the Cayman Island with a hotty or a hunk. You tried every password you can remember but still can't get in. You're locked out. What now? Reformat your computer? what about your files? your music? your photos? your porn? (oops!)
Well, relax, take a deep breath and forget about her/him. Go find a new lover, take a photo with him or her smooching and send a quick MMS to your ex (assuming he/she has not changed her/his identity yet) with a caption "take that!". Ok seriously, download this neat program called Ophcrack. Make sure to grab the LiveCD version. Burn the program into a CD, reboot your computer on the CD and wait for the magic to happen. The program will search and show you every password on every user in your computer.
Once you recover the password, make sure to change it immediately. Remember the rule, make your password easy to remember but not too easy to be cracked. The best password is to include numbers, special characters and capital letters.
Now you learned your lesson, next time if you don't plan marrying your partner, do yourself a favor, your computer is yours alone. Tell them to get their own. After all you need your own privacy, right?
