#37: More on Cory

While watching the coverage of the death of President Cory Aquino, I can't help but reminisce the events that led to her presidency. Admittedly I became a little bit sentimental as the images of the what transpired from when Ninoy was assasinated in 1981 up to the People Power revolution in 1986.

Here's the song that sum up what had happened. I have not heard of this song for a long time until today. This song was written by Jim Paredes. What struck me are the words:

'Di na 'ko papayag mawala ka muli. 'Di na 'ko papayag na muli mabawi, Ating kalayaan kay tagal natin mithi. 'Di na papayagang mabawi muli.

Unfortunately, it seems that these words are being swallowed by the current president who seems to want to cling to power forever...
